Abstract

The Er $^{3+}$ –Tm $^{3+}$ –Yb $^{3+}$ codoped ZrO $_{2}$ phosphor synthesized via chemical co-precipitation technique has been characterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The upconversion (UC) emission study of present material has been performed upon 980 nm diode laser excitation. The efficient energy transfer between dopants has been found to be responsible in the UC mechanism. The tuning in color of light emitted from the developed phosphor has been noticed by considering concentration as well as power variation. The Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) corresponding to different color coordinates has been calculated. The temperature sensing behavior of developed material has also been explained using fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) technique.
